Fearless sees Ark City being competitive Friday

Fearless Forecaster is seemingly on a treadmill.

Another blah 11-4 week keeps our picker just around the 75 percent mark as he’s 152-50 on the season.

Fearless did fine in the high school games, going 5-0, but was again tripped up by the KCAC and Big 12.

Fearless missed on Saint Mary’s upset of Southwestern, as well as Friends outlasting Bethel as the Threshers’ ground game has fallen off.

The Big 12’s middle teams also continue to knock each other off. Fearless didn’t see Baylor jumping up to upset Oklahoma State, and also lost on Kansas State, as he picked the Wildcats to beat a TCU team that had lost to woebegone Kansas the week before.

• McPherson 28, Arkansas City 7 — Cold weather and a physical Arkansas City team will provide the Bullpups with their first test since Week 1.

• Last week — 2-0. Season — 35-5.

• AREA •

• Canton-Galva 46, South Central 44 — Fearless’ spies tell him this Eagle team is unstoppable right now.

• Pratt 21, Smoky Valley 14 — A battle of 10-0 teams. Fearless looked at comparable scores and it favors the Greenbacks. Travis Theis is virtually unstoppable for Pratt. Smoky is built for the cold weather, though.

• Last week — 3-0. Season — 44-9.

• KCAC •

• Saint Mary 42, McPherson College 28 — The Bulldogs had a great start to the season, but injuries have decimated them. The Spires have been coming on strong after a disappointing loss.

• Ottawa 41, Friends 14 — A good bounceback year for Kent Kesssinger and his Braves as they'll finish 8-2.

• Kansas Wesleyan 56, Southwestern 24 — The Coyotes wrap up a perfect regular season and hope to host a playoff game.

• Avila 28, Tabor 21 — Best game of the day. Tabor is closing with a rush, but Avila played KW down to the wire lat week.

• Sterling 33, Bethel 20 — Sterling gets back to .500 with a win.

• Bethany completed its season last week.

• Last week — 3-2. Season — 34-17.

• BIG 12 •

• Kansas State 35, Kansas 17 — So many factors figure in this game, but the bottom line is KU’s defense can’t stop anybody and its offense can’t score on anybody. Hard to believe we’re back to the days where the Kansas schools are back at the bottom.

• Iowa State 31, Baylor 21 — The Cyclones are rolling after a slow start.

• Texas Tech 44, Texas 38 — The Longhorns are starting to slide.

• Oklahoma 51, Oklahoma State 26 — The Sooners can’t afford any slip-ups as they’re just on the outside looking in for the CBS Final Four.

• West Virginia 34, TCU 17 — The Mountaineers are in the same position as Oklahoma as they need to get in the Big 12 championship game.

• Last week — 3-2. Season — 39-19.
