The United Way of McPherson County is still seeking registrants for the 2015 Triathlon, which will be held in McPherson Aug. 15.
United Way Executive Director Anne Kirchner says they are down this year by 50 registrations, though that number may be a little deceiving due to a couple of factors.
“We're sitting at 150, right now,” Kirchner said. “Now, that 150 is just team numbers or individual numbers. We've got several relay teams that have three people. So, our actual, physical bodies are around 200.”
The United Way is also offering a new Live United Corporate Challenge this year, in which local businesses and corporations compete for a traveling trophy designed by The Clayworks at Disability Supports. Kirchner says they have teams registered from Williams, CHS, Mid-Kansas Co-Op and USD 418.
“And our new superintendent [Mark Crawford] has been great,” Kirchner said. “He actually offered an internal challenge between schools, as well. So that was kind of cool.”
The deadline to get registered for the United Way of McPherson County 2015 Triathlon is Friday at 5 p.m. Individuals and relay teams can sign up at www.unitedwaymcpherson.org/triathlon.html.
The race begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 15 at the McPherson Water Park.
