Ottawa women earn nod as top KCAC soccer team

Ottawa is the strong favorite to win the KCAC women’s soccer championship as the annual preseason coaches poll was released on Monday.

The Braves, who were second during the 2014 regular season but winners of the postseason tournament, received eight of the 11 first-place votes. Kansas Wesleyan, last year’s regular-season champion, received two first-place votes and KCAC newcomer Oklahoma Wesleyan earned one vote.

Bethany College was sixth in the voting and McPherson College, with Doug Quint now at the helm for both the women and men, was ninth.
