McPherson College will be hosting a tennis academy this fall for all levels of players at the Doris Coppock Tennis Courts. Cost varies by level, with beginners allowed to participate for free.
Dates for the camp are Sept. 13 and 27, as well as Oct. 4, 11 and 25.
"We are really excited to host free tennis lessons for kids new to the sport and paid lessons for the community," McPherson College coach Justin Stuckey said. "We feel that this a great opportunity for the McPherson College tennis program to teach the sport of tennis and get the community involved."
The free lessons are being supported by the USTA Missouri Valley section.
"The United States Tennis Association-Missouri Valley is happy to help support McPherson College's endeavor to provide complimentary tennis instruction, using age appropriate equipment, to the local community,” said Jared Glaser, director of the Missouri Valley Diversity and Inclusion.
The lessons will be taught the McPherson College tennis teams, which qualified for the national tournament last year.
Deadline for registration is Aug. 31. Contact Stuckey at McPherson College to register or for more information. A camp brochure is available on the college’s website.
