ELYRIA — Elyria Christian School has a new athletic director.
According to an announcement from the school on Wednesday, Taylor Redding will now be in charge of ECS athletics.
He replaces Bobby Childs, who has accepted a job in his home state of Ohio.
Redding is a recent Tabor College graduate and has a Bachelor of Arts in social work. Most recently he has been a community case manager for Prairie View Inc., in Harvey County. The mission of ECS and getting back into athletics, however, appealed to him.
“I was drawn to Elyria Christian School because the school views education through a Christian lens, ultimately drawing students and faculty closer to Christ,” Redding said.
Redding served as an assistant girls basketball coach for two seasons while at Tabor.
Redding and his wife Morgan currently reside in Wichita. The couple is anxious to become apart of the ECS family.
“I am looking forward to getting to know the students, faculty and community of Elyria. I look forward to using the gifts and abilities God has blessed me with to influence young lives for His kingdom.”
Head Administrator Eric Clark said he’s excited about bringing Redding on board.
“Taylor has the uncanny ability to make those around him better everyday, and I can’t wait to begin working with him. His personality, unique skill set, and professionalism will make an immediate and extended impact on our already growing school.”
