If there is a hoarder in your life, you need to pencil in a free informational seminar from Prairie View, Inc., coming up later this month in McPherson.

The seminar, entitled “Decluttering Your Life: Education and Interventions for Hoarding Behavoir” will be presented by Dr. David McDonald.

“Many people have become imprisoned by their possessions,” McDonald said. “Mounting clutter can significantly impair daily functioning, hurt relationships, lead to high levels of distress, and even create safety concerns for self and others. Sufferers and those who care are not alone in this struggle, and there are interventions that have been found to help those who are willing. Those who are considering or actively looking to change are encouraged to come by to learn about the nature of this behavior, proven treatments, and helpful resources.”

Information will also be provided by Terry Bolte with the McPherson County Council on Aging.

The seminar will be held at the Community Room at Prairie View on Hospital Drive Aug. 25 and will start at 3:30 p.m.
