After a few years of cramped housing due to an enrollment boom, Bethany College is set to officially open its newest residence hall this week.
Student-athletes were able to move in last week, with new students allowed into the new hall on Sunday. A public reception to officially open the new facility is planned for Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
The new hall, which has yet to be named, houses 241 beds, with each in it's own room. The rooms are configured into suites of one to 10 people. The 10-person suite is being developed as a shared-experience living environment, with different groups being allowed to bid to live there.
Students last year had to be housed in area motels due to a lack of on-campus housing, as Bethany's enrollment has shot up from 537 in fall 2007 to 717 in 2014.
