OTTAWA — Roll this one off your tongue — NCAA national basketball runner-up Kentucky against KCAC member Ottawa University.

This mind-blower of a matchup is now a reality as the Wildcats will be hosting the Braves on Nov. 2 at historic Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky.

Mitch Barnhart, a 1981 Ottawa University graduate, is now the athletic director at Kentucky. Plans have been made to honor Barnhart at halftime of the game. He recently was named the 2014-15 Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year.

“I’m excited that Ottawa University, a school near and dear to my heart, will have this opportunity,” Barnhart said in a press release. “Seeing a group of young men from my alma mater playing in Rupp Arena will be something I will always remember.”

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our program to play the highest-winning Division I program in the history of men’s basketball,” new OU coach Aaron Siebenthall said. “Playing against Kentucky in Rupp Arena will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our players and coaches.”

Siebenthall took over the program this season after longtime OU coach and Bethany College alum Andy Carrier retired.
