The McPherson Board of Education and USD 418 teachers came to an agreement for the coming school year, which was ratified Monday night.
The new agreement, which was approved by the McPherson Education Association by 87 percent, sets the number of contract days at 187, according to USD 418 Business Manager Gordon Mohn.
“It had been the board's impression that we temporarily reduce that to 187 and it was going to go back to 188,” Mohn said. “We've agreed now that it would permanently be at 187.”
Mohn said the other provisions initially discussed between the two entities remained in place.
“That's a two percent increase for returning staff and included a $145 increase in base,” Mohn said. “It included in health insurance benefit and that reduction of contract. And there were some other, minor provisions in the contract.”
The USD 418 board approved the agreement with the district's certified staff on a unanimous vote.
