USD 418 Business Manager Gordon Mohn updated McPherson school board members on the lease with McPherson College over McPherson Stadium, including the renovation projects underway out there.

Mohn reported the estimated cost of the renovation is $1.636 million.

“[USD] 418's contribution to that is that $818,000,” Mohn said. “Plus, in the last three years of the lease, each entity agrees to put $115,000 a year into an escrow fund that will be used for major renovations after the end of this lease.”

That means USD 418's total contribution to the renovation is $1.163 million.

Mohn also reported that a yearly maintenance fee is included in the lease.

“McPherson College does almost all the work in maintaining the facility, preparing the facility, light maintenance work, some janitorial work,” Mohn said. “And that is a three percent escalating clause over the 10-year period. So you can see that the total we put in is $1.43 million.”

A total of $732,280 of the $1.636 million in renovations have been completed. Of the $904,554 remaining, $850,000 of that is to be allocated towards heavy renovations of the Grandstand and press box, as well as the stadium complex perimeter.
