Busy day for CCC teams

It is a busy weekend for the fall sports teams at Central Christian College as five of the seven are in action — three on the road and two at home.

On the road will be the men's and women's golf teams and the volleyball team.

The Tiger golfers are heading to Emporia where the men will be playing a triangular with Haskell Indian Nations University and Coffeyville Community College. The Tiger women are just playing a dual with Coffeyville. Four of the five golfers on the men's squad are freshmen, as are three of the four women. They are inexperienced but talented, and have practiced well in the last two weeks leading up to their fall opener.

Fresh off a sweep of Union College on Thursday, the Lady Tiger spikers are in Omaha for a triangular with Grace University and Dakota Wesleyan University. The Lady Tigers will take on Grace at 1:00 and then play DWU at 3:00. Grace is a familiar foe for the Lady Tigers, as they faced the Royals last season at home, falling to them in five sets on Senior Night.  DWU will be a fresh face for the CCC ladies, having not faced the Tigers in recent memory.

The CCC men's and women's soccer teams open up their seasons at home today against Presentation College. The women take the field first at 3:00, followed by the men at 5:00. Presentation played Friday at Bethany, with the Swede men winning 4-0 while the Presentation women were a 1-0 winner.
