A Smoky Valley High School student's car is total following an early morning vehicle fire Monday.

According to Lindsborg Fire Chief Kent Elbing, fire fighters responded to a report of a 1999 Pontiac on fire in the Smoky Valley High School parking lot just after 6 a.m. Elbing says the fire, which was noticed by a passerby after the driver had gone into the school for volleyball practice, started in the engine compartment.

No cause has as yet been determined.

No one was injured in extinguishing the fire.
