Vike netters edged by one

ELLSWORTH — Central Plains and Smoky Valley battled right down to the wire Tuesday, as one point separated them in the Ellsworth Invitational Tennis Tournament.

Central Plains came away with a narrow 58-57 win, as Trinity Catholic was a distant third with 42. 

Other scores were Ellsworth (39), Lyons (32), Ellinwood (31), Trego Community (21) and Concordia (0).

Smoky Valley won the No. 2 doubles division (Katie Klaassen and Jade Sokup). In the No. 1 doubles division, Emily Roets and Katie Bellah took second.

In singles, the Vikings’ Ally Karber was third at No. 1 and Kira Haxton took third in No. 2 .
