LINDSBORG — Southwestern Christian College hammered Bethany College with four first-half goals, two of them in the first 8 minutes by Jamie Campbell, on its way to a 6-1 victory.
Luis Fernando Pinto prevented a shutout with a second-half goal for the Swedes’ lone tally.
Southwestern Christian unfurled 26 shots to just seven for Bethany, which is now 1-2 on the year.
“Credit goes to Southwestern Christian for playing an excellent match tonight," Bethany coach Shane Taylor said. "I think what disappointed us most in the first half was that we didn't respond well to the pressure they put on us. As soon as the first goal went in, I thought our heads dropped and we didn't recover from there."
Bethany is on the road Friday to play Culver-Stockton in Canton, Mo.
