House explodes near Moundridge

No one was injured after a house near Moundridge exploded Wednesday evening.

According to McPherson County Sheriff's Captain Doug Anderson, the house in question was located in the 900 block of East Hoch, just southeast of Moundridge. Moundridge fire and EMS personnel responded to the explosion just before 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, as did McPherson Sheriff's deputies and Galva firefighters.

No further information was available as of this morning as to the cause of the explosion, though the investigation, which included the State Fire Marshall's office, continued into the late night hours.

The house was reportedly vacant at the time of the explosion.
