County firefighters battle hayfield fire

County firefighters responded three different times over the past couple of days to a hay field on fire.

According to Lindsborg Fire Chief Kent Elbing, no buildings were threatened, though the fire destroyed multiple bales of hay, along with a baler, creating a total loss of $10,000.

No emergency responders were injured in fighting the fire, which started Tuesday near 12thAvenue and Quivera Road southwest of Lindsborg and was finally put out Wednesday after three different flare ups.

Marquette and McPherson fire and Lindsborg EMS personnel also responded to the fires.
