OMAHA, Neb. — Breelyn Petty’s two goals sparked McPherson College’s women’s soccer team to its first victory of the season on Monday, as a 4-1 road success against Grace University leveled the Bulldogs’ record at 1-1.
Amy Stockton and Cheyenne Smith had assists on those goals.
In the second half, Smith got into the scoring act off a pass from Belen Villegas. The final score was by Lacy Fry, assisted by Tiffany Fraser.
The Bulldogs unleashed 15 shots, 11 on goal, as they controlled the action from start to finish.
“We had a lot of ladies play well today,” McPherson coach Doug Quint said. “We possessed the ball well and defensively had another outstanding performance.”
Caitlyn Blagrave went all the way in goal to pick up her first win of the season.
Mac hosts St. Gregory’s of Oklahoma on Wednesday.
