Public comment was received on a proposed playground system at Hess Park in the northeast part of McPherson.
“City staff received several citizen comments, all in favor of the recommended play system,” Public Lands and Facilities Director Wayne Burns said.
The McPherson City Commission followed the recommendation of city staff and approved the purchase of a Playworld system from Frye and Associates for a total cost of $56,666.
Also approved was the purchase of wood fiber fall zone material at a cost of $10,500.
The new equipment is expected to be received by Nov. 1.
