The McPherson Park Department is looking at extensive repairs to portions of Wall Park after a vandalism spree over the holiday weekend.

Damage was done to Wall Park restrooms and shelters, as well as at the Wall Park Sports Complex during the early morning hours Monday, the department said on their Facebook page. At the sports complex, the suspect drove through the front gate and then through some fences surrounding the ball diamonds.

According to Assistant McPherson Police Chief Mike Terry, the damage was all done by one vehicle between the hours of 2:30 and 8:30 a.m. Monday. Damage is estimated to be at $2,000.

Terry says an 18-year-old McPherson male has confessed to the vandalism. The case has been sent to the McPherson County Attorney's office and charges are pending.
