LINDSBORG — Bethany College women’s basketball coach Brett Morehouse has a new assistant.
Anthony Nakashima was announced this week as the newest member of Morehouse’s staff.
"We are very excited to announce the addition of Tony Nakashima to our coaching staff,” Morehouse said. “After just a few conversations, I knew we had found the right candidate to fill the position of lead assistant and head junior varsity coach. Tony brings energy and a relentless work ethic. Tony will be involved in all aspects of our program, from film breakdown and game planning to scheduling and recruiting. He truly loves the game of basketball and has a genuine desire to continue learning and developing as a teacher and coach."
Nakashima has previous stops at Warner Pacific College, Sacred Heart High School, Portland Adventist Academ and was also an AAU coach for Team Concept. He was a walk-on at Hawaii Pacific University, before transferring to Pacific Union College to finish out his career.
"I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity to be a part of Bethany College's coaching staff,” Nakashima said. “I'm looking forward to learning from coach Morehouse and becoming a better coach to help the team. I am very optimistic about the upcoming season and believe we will have a great year.”
