Demand for the City of McPherson Sidewalk Replacement Program is currently greater than funds exist.

Public Works Director Jeff Woodward told the McPherson City Commission during a Tuesday study session that the $ 15,000 set aside for this year's program had already been spoken for, with more requests incoming.

“We haven't spend it all, we haven't paid it all out, but we've authorized it for approval,” Woodward said. “But the problem is that we have a request that is a $ 1,900 request that puts us well over the [$ 15,000] that we had put aside.”

It was tentatively decided to increase the funding level by another $4,000 or $5,000 in order to keep up with demand for the program.
