There is still time to sign up for the Run for Redd 5K planned for September 19 at McPherson Hospital.

The race is a fundraiser for McPherson EMS Paramedic Bryon Redden, who was diagnosed with failing kidneys a week after his daughter's first birthday. Redden's health coverage will cover the cost of a kidney transplant itself, but he and his family face significant expenses relating to the surgery.

According to Simon Pyle, who is organizing the 5-K, 114 have already signed up, with registration to continue up until the day of the run. The cost is $25, though Simon did say that the deadline to guarantee a T-shirt has passed.

If you would like to make a donation in honor of Redden, you can go online, click find a patient and type Bryon Redden.
