Smoky spikers sweep triangular

GREAT BEND — It was a red-letter day for the orange-and-black Smoky Valley Viking volleyball team on Monday.

The Vikings swept a triangular in action against Scott City and Great Bend.

The Vikes defeated Scott City in straight sets (25-15, 25-16) and then dispatched Class 5A Great Bend, 25-21 and 25-19.

Haley Peterson led the Vikings in kills with 13. Kelsie Anderson had a big night with 20 assists and nine kills, while Delaney Johnson was credited with 23 assists.

The Vikings, now 8-4 on the season, jump right back into it today at Larned.
