CCC's Duckworth tears it up on final day

Collin Duckworth was Central Christian College’s top finisher during today’s windy final round of the Kansas Golf Classic at Turkey Creek.

Duckworth finished in a tie for third after shooting a 74. He had fired two previous rounds of 78 and finished with a 230 total.

Duckworth’s 74 was the best round of the day.

CCC’s Ty Howell, who had shot 79-72 on Monday, struggled with a 96 today and fell back to a tie for 15th at 247. Teammate JP Ray also had his struggles after a good Monday, finishing with rounds of 77-80-89-246 for 14th.

Sterling’s Lorenzo Bolivar was medalist with rounds of 72-72-80-224.

Other scores for Central were Mathew Hargett (86-93-89-268) and Lowell Stephens (76-91-102-269).

After starting the day in third as a team, Central fell back to fourth. Sterling (926) won the title, followed by Barton County (942), Bethel A (962) Central (979), Bethel B (1,075) and Jarvis Christian (1,385).

For the Central women, Alexis Briner was 13th with a 199. Other totals were Savannah Horn (203), Caitlin Corn (234) and Mackenzie Gales (248).

Redlands won the meet by 52 shots, followed by Barton County, Dodge City, Sterling and Central.
