CLEARWATER — It was a tremendous night of volleyball for McPherson’s ninth-graders as they swept a road triangular on Thursday.

The Bullpups needed three sets to topple Andale (20-25, 25-19, 15-12), but then routed Buhler (25-18, 15-9) and Clearwater (25-13, 25-13) in straight sets.

“We had a great night of volleyball,” MHS coach Danica Fitzmorris said. “The last two matches the girls were a step ahead and able to pull off some plays out of the middle and in the back row. Besides the first game, our serving was much better today.”

Fitzmorris said the Bullpups were able to display their depth.

“We were able to play all members of our 13-squad team tonight,” she said. “We felt the rhythm and our subs did a great job on the floor tonight, Hannah Kirchner on the offside, Megan Manning in the defense spot for (Chelsea) Stoppel and Kolbi Partain  for the big Megan Eisenbarth in the middle.”

The Bullpups improved to 12-2. They are home Thursday to again play Andale and Buhler, with Rose Hill the fourth team in the quad.
