A man is in jail after leading Harvey County Law Enforcement on a high-speed chase Monday morning.

According to the Hutchinson News, Matthew Barnes, 25, was being questioned by a Hesston Police officer in relation to an attempted theft report when Barnes fled the scene in a vehicle, the door striking a Harvey County Sheriff's deputy in the process.

Hesston Police, Harvey County Sheriff's deputies, the Newton Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol were then led on a high-speed chase that finally ended in a Park City trailer court.

Barnes was arrested for eluding, attempted theft, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer and a Park City warrant.
