Enrollment numbers are up for McPherson College in the fall semester.

McPherson College President Michael Schneider says they are at around 620 full-time students, with the full time equivalent most likely to be around 700.

“The exciting thing about it is that we've got a big freshman class,” Schneider said. “And right now, all the data is pointing that the freshman class is doing really, really well. Which is exciting. They come, they're focused, they're going to class, they're doing well in their classes. They're integrating well within the campus life and co-curriculars.”

Schneider says it's not really a surprise that the college is having success at recruiting and retaining students after being named a Chronicle of Higher Education 2015 Great College to Work For.

“The only college in the state of Kansas this year to achieve that,” Schneider said. “That speaks volumes about our employees and the work that's going on out at Mac College.”

The full interview with Schneider can be heard during the next Bulldog 30, which airs Mondays at 5:30 p.m. on McPherson's Radio Station.
