HILLSBORO — McPherson College’s volleyball team played one of its best matches of the year on Wednesday as it pushed longtime KCAC power Tabor to the limit.

But the result was still the same.

Mac remained winless in the KCAC at 0-6 and dropped to 3-13 overall with a five-set loss.

Tabor wound up winning 26-24, 21-25, 25-17, 20-25, 15-13. In the final set, the Bulldogs were agonizingly close to the victory, up 12-10, but the Bluejays forced a tie at 13, then scored the final two points.

Leia Seiler and Lexi Kite led the way in kills with 14 and 11, respectively. Maci Schlehuber and Rhianna Smith were assist leaders with 21 and 19, respectively, while Emily Warner once again led in digs with 29.

The Bulldogs will attempt to snap their 10-match losing streak on Saturday when they host Friends. The action begins at 2 p.m.
