LINDSBORG — Former McPherson High football standout Zach Lanning was an absolute beast Saturday night in Ottawa University’s 41-17 victory over Bethany College.

Lanning, a preseason KCAC first-team pick, was practically unblockable as he came up with seven solo tackles from his defensive line position and was in on two others. Twice he was in on tackles that resulted in losses.

The victory was the Braves’ first on the year after two losses. They are the defending KCAC champions and coached by former Bethany College All-American Kent Kessinger, son of legendary Bethany coach Ted Kessinger, who won 16 KCAC championships in his 28 years.
