Flags will be at half-staff Tuesday in honor of former McPherson City Commissioner Bob Harder, who recently passed away.

Harder served as the streets and utilities commissioner for 15 years, having first been elected in 1986. McPherson Mayor Tom Brown said Harder's legacy remains around the city.

“A lot of the work that was done in that 15 year period was Bob pushing through street repairs, planning new streets,” Brown said. “He had a vision for the street plan and every thing else. We're indebted to him and every thing he did.”

Funeral services for Harder will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
