MHS netters now No. 2; Hesston No. 1

The new KSHSAA classifications announced on Friday caused a great shakeup in the Class 4A girls state tennis rankings.

McPherson High, which had been No. 1 all season, dropped to No. 2. Wichita Collegiate, which had been No. 1 in Class 3-2-1A, debuted at the 4A top spot.

Andover Central, which dropped down from 5A on Friday, enters at No. 3 in Class 4A. Buhler and Independence round out the Top 5.

Others to watch are Winfield, Miege and Coffeyville.

With Collegiate moving up to 4A, Hesston has assumed the No. 1 spot in Class 3-2-1A. Wichita Independent is No. 2, followed by Sterling, Central Plains and Conway Springs. Others to watch are Hoisington, Kansas City Christian and Marysville.
