CONCORDIA, Neb. — Central Christian College’s volleyball team, which had been on such a roll recently, found itself overwhelmed by the No. 18 team in the country on Tuesday.

CCC dropped straight-set decisions to Concordia University (8-25, 11-25, 8-25).

“One thing we talked about in postgame is how foreign this feeling is, getting blown out,” CCC coach Christina Ludwick said. “Did we play well? Absolutely not. But is Concordia a fantastic program? Yes. So we're taking this in stride, learning from it and moving on. One game won't define our capabilities for this season."

There weren’t a lot of big numbers for Central. Kasi Kraus and Mayuko Shono shared the kills lead with four, Hannah Crandall had 12 assists and Ciara Costello led in digs with seven.

The Lady Tigers are now 12-6 and host St. Gregory’s on Friday. That will be followed by an intracity showdown on Saturday with McPherson College at 11 a.m. at Alexander Arena. Central also will play College of the Ozarks at 3 p.m.
