The Diamond Dala celebration is only a few days away.

The 75thSvensk Hyllningsfest beings Thursday night with the worship service from the Associated Churches of Lindsborg. The opening ceremony and crowning of the Hyllningsfest king and queen kick off the official festival Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Hyllningsfest committee member Mike Drier says entertainment this weekend includes Swedish folk games, the Lindsborg Swedish Folk Dancers and much more.

“Other entertainment that we have on Friday and Saturday includes Logan Linds, who is a folk rock singer with a Scandinavian edge,” Drier said. “Drum Safari is a percussion group for kids that is put on by a local Bethany College and Smoky Valley graduate, Brandon Draper and his wife, which is absolutely amazing.”

Drier adds that the festival is funded by support buttons which are available before the festival starts for 5 dollars through local vendors and the Lindsborg Chamber of Commerce.

“We'll be selling them at the festival for id="mce_marker"0,” Drier said. “And that's one of the ways that we monetize the festival to ensure that all of these unique things get to happen.”

The grand parade will be held Saturday morning starting at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Lindsborg.
