HALSTEAD — A sweep of a triangular with Halstead and Hoisington on Tuesday has left the Hesston High volleyball team tied for first place in the Central Kansas League.
The Swathers were stretched to the limit in both matches. However, they were a runaway winner in the first set before losing the second. Fortunately, they rebounded in the third for the wins.
Hesston defeated Hoisington (25-10, 22-25, 25-21) and Halstead (25-5, 17-25, 25-11) to move to 8-1 in the CKL, 18-2 on the year.
Cami Richardson and Kailey Jo Ince notched 24 and 23 kills, respectively. Richardson also came up with 21 assists and Alaina Dunlavy had 19. Katie Thrasher had a great serving night with 11 aces, while Ince had 16 digs, one more than Richardson.
Hesston is right back in action on Thursday at Southeast of Saline and then competes Saturday in the Garden Plain Invitational as it’s a busy week.
