More details on an accident involving two City of McPherson employees Monday afternoon.

Just before 2 p.m. Monday, two city employees were performing routine maintenance on a lift station near Centennial Drive and First Street, the City said in a press release this morning.

The two employees were attempting to pull one of the two pumps on the wet side of the lift station, when one lost his balance and fell about 30 feet down into the lift station.

McPherson firefighters, EMS personnel, police officers and sheriff's deputies responded.

The employee and a firefighter were both transported to McPherson Hospital with minor injuries, though they were treated and released.
