DERBY — McPherson’s seventh-grade volleyball team needed little time to dispatch with Derby North on Thursday.

The A-team rolled to 25-12, 25-20 victories to improve to 10-8 on the season.

“Overall, the girls did great,” MMS coach Shelly Bohme said. “They played with energy, stayed positive and communicated well. Taylor Casebeer, Grace Pyle, Olivia Morgan and Hope Wehrman did a nice job passing on the back row. Megan Lulloff, Addison Seidl, Hailey Henson, and Taylor served the ball well. We got some great attacks from Katie Berg, Addison and Megan. Very proud of how these girls played as a team.”

The B-team is now a sparkling 16-3 after 25-17, 25-16 triumphs.

“The girls played amazing today,” MMS coach Abby Bradstreet said. “We had some great serving by Autumn Muehler, Kenzee Godwin, Melissa Mintzer and Abby Hipp. Lillia Diggs did really well at the net and all of the girls did great passing in the back row. We still need to work on our communication as a team, but overall it was a fun game and exciting to watch the girls improving every day.”

MMS will host Maize South on Monday.
