Medicare Part D plans to change

Open enrollment for Medicare Part D is nearing and McPherson County Extension Agent Jana McKinney says there are some changes to take into account this year.

“There are four plans that are completely leaving the market,” McKinney said. “That means, if you don't get something else, you won't have a drug plan.”

Additionally, there are six companies that are cross-walking. That means one company has sold out to another and your plan is being shifted to the new company.

“But sometimes the premium can be as high as $70,” McKinney said. “So please be sure and go shopping.”

Open-enrollment for Medicare Part D takes place between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7. For more information, or set up an appointment for assistance in picking out the plan that works for you, call McKinney at 241-1523.
