LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s volleyball team completed a sweep of the season series with county rival McPherson College on Saturday by taking down the Bulldogs in four sets.
Bethany won the first set 25-18 before the Bulldogs evened things up with a 25-11 domination. But the Swedes shook that off for 25-22, 25-20 triumphs.
It was only Bethany’s third KCAC win as it’s now 3-8, while the Bulldogs are 1-10 in the conference.
Taryn Lee led the Bulldogs with 13 kills, while Rhianna Smith was tops in assists with 19. Emily Warner paced in digs with 25.
For the Swedes, Kim Stringer was tops in kills with 10, Paloma Juarros was first in assists with 20 and Connor Stolley hustled to a team-high 21 digs.
The Bulldogs fell to 6-17 overall in what was their kickoff match to the second round of conference play. They are home on Wednesday to take on Kansas Wesleyan.
The Swedes are 7-15 overall. Their next action is Wednesday at Ottawa.
