Hospira has settled a gender-based discrimination complaint filed by the United State Department of Labor.

According to the Hutchinson News, the Labor Department had alleged that Hospira, Inc., now a part of Pfizer, had hired a smaller percentage of female applicants than males in 2012.

The company did not admit any liability in settling, though they did agree to hire more women and pay some $400,000 in back wages.
