PRAIRIE VILLAGE — The Hesston boys tennis team won the Class 3-2-1A state championship this past spring.
Saturday, it was the girls’ turn.
Hesston thus is now the current holder of both state titles as the Swather girls won handily with 45 points, with Conway Springs a distant second with 28 and Wichita Independent was third with 26.
It was a complete team effort as Hesston did not have any champions, but methodically piled up the points.
The doubles team of Olivia Brubacher and Katelyn Hageman took second, while Abigail Decker and Kaitlyn Schrock placed fourth.
In singles, Morgan Holopirek took fifth place, with Tessa Isaac placing 10th.
