Jace Kinnamon got McPherson’s ninth-grade football team off and running early, and then the Bullpups held off a mild Abilene rally for a 46-24 victory here Tuesday.
Kinnamon scored the Bullpups’ first four touchdowns, all during a 30-8 first half. Three times he plowed in from short distance and also had a 28-yard TD strike from Kyler Hoppes. In addition, he caught a 2-pointer from Hoppes, while Gabe Hoover had a pair of 2-pointers.
In the second half, Honestee Whittker went in from a yard and later, Tayln Huff caught a 34-yard strike from Hoppes. Hoover and Whittker added 2-pointers and MHS made all but one of its extra-point attempts.
