HALSTEAD — Hesston High put the finishing touches on its volleyball regular season on Tuesday with a triangular sweep.
The Swathers defeated Halstead (25-13, 25-16) and the Wichita Defenders (25-19, 25-22). They take a 26-10 record to the Southeast of Saline sub-state on Saturday in Gypsum.
“We struggled at times throughout the night, but also had some good moments where we were able to pull together when we lost momentum and not let the set get away from us,” Hesston coach Jason Peters said. “This was the third time we have played Halstead this season and the last time they took us to three sets.”
Peters said the Wichita team came in with just four losses and had played some quality competition, so he was pleased to win that match.
Kailey Jo Ince led in kills with 20. Alaina Dunlavy was tops in assists with 41, while she also led in digs with 13.
The Hesston JVs won both their matches to close 32-2.
