Are you looking for a good scare this Halloween season? McPherson Museum Director Anna Ruxlow said the place to go is the museum.
“We promise it will be a great scare,” Ruxlow said. “But we added a little twist to it. We took a few McPherson folk lore stories and a couple of real stories from McPherson and built them into the haunted house.”
According to Ruxlow, they have changed a few details to protect identities of those involved in the stories.
“No one will know what the story is,” Ruxlow said. “No one will know the names because we didn't want anyone to become offended by it. We did twist the stories to give them that Hollywood flare.”
The Historical Haunted House, which is being put on in the house next to the McPherson Museum at 1111 East Kansas Ave., will run Friday and Saturday this week from 8-10 p.m. and then again Oct. 30 from 8-10 p.m. Halloween night, which is a Saturday, the house will be open from 8-11 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
