The McPherson Hospital Volunteers recently received a Gold Award of Excellence for their work at McPherson Hospital.

The achievement was awarded by the Hospital Auxiliaries of Kansas during a recent convention in Topeka for the Kansas Hospital Association. The Volunteers were evaluated over a 12 month period in 21 areas, which included involvement in health education programs, health-related community service and contributions to health career scholarships.

“Our dedicated volunteers contribute so much to the life of the hospital,” Lori Koehn, McPherson Hospital Director of Volunteer Services, said. “From assisting patients and families, to helping staff in various departments, to raising money and providing over ten thousand hours of volunteer services annually, these compassionate individuals demonstrate daily what it is to care for others.”

The Volunteers also help out with blood mobiles, flu clinics and fund raising activities.
