LINDSBORG – Bethany College is getting into the Halloween spirit on Saturday.
The Bethany athletic department is inviting all kids to participate in its “Trunk or Treat” event prior to the football game.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., Bethany athletic teams will be lined up across the street from Anderson Stadium with decorated vehicles for kids to come meet the college's athletes, coaches, and get some candy. In addition to the trunk or treat, all kids under 18 who come to the game dressed up will have free admission to the Swedes’ football game at 1:30 p.m. and the men's basketball game starting at 7 p.m.
"We are always looking for ways to get involved with the community,"Bethany Dean of Athletics Dane Pavlovich said. "Hosting this event allows us to pair a community activity with one of our home events."
The Swedes will host Friends University at 1:30 p.m. at Anderson Stadium, and the men's basketball team will have its second game of the year, against Mid-America Christian University, at 7 p.m.
“I think this is a great opportunity for Lindsborg and the surrounding communities to engage with Bethany College,” Bethany football coach Paul Hubbard said. “It is a chance for people to see and meet the kind of quality people that are all over our campus."
