McPherson College’s Bulldogs lost a 41-3 verdict Saturday to Saint Mary, but Chris Linnin’s performance was too good to ignore.

Linnin, a freshman from Castle Rock, Colo., launched four punts for a 51.8 average, including a long of 59 yards. He had a 50-yarder dead into the stiff breeze.

For that performance, he was named today as KCAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Also of note, former McPherson Bulldog Kelly Cordova was named Offensive Player of the Week as he led his new team, Kansas Wesleyan, to a 52-14 rout of arch-rival Bethany.

He had 142 yards on five catches, ran for 35 yards on six tries and completed both of his pass attempts for another 14 yards. He accounted for 191 yards of total offense and scored a touchdown rushing, receiving and passed for a third.
