LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s basketball teams open their seasons tonight hosting Doane College.
Game time at Hahn Gym is 6 p.m. for the women, 8 p.m. for the men.
This could be a special year for the Bethany men as they could make a run at KCAC and national honors. They return three of the top players in the KCAC in Cody Harris, Jonathan Gidson and Gary Jones, all of whom averaged better than 16 points a game, as well as starting guard Larry McLin. Coach Clair Oleen, as usual, has loaded up on transfers and at least three are expected to play prominent roles. In fact, Oleen could have a problem finding enough playing time for everybody as he’s overflowing with gifted operatives.
The Bethany women were dead last in the KCAC last year, but coach Brett Morehouse hit the recruiting trail hard and brought in a passel of newcomers. He does have back perhaps the KCAC’s most dynamic player in scoring machine Adriane Davis, who is expected to contend for the KCAC scoring title.
