McPherson Police are warning about a scam making the rounds.

According to a post on the MPD's Facebook page, two McPherson residents have reported losing money after a caller claimed to be with Publisher's Clearing House. The caller offered cash and a Mercedes-Benz as long as the victims sent in a “small portion of the taxes on the prizes.”

MPD officials say to be suspicious of any claims that you've won a prize, but ask you to send money. They also state that Publisher's Clearing House does not contact contest winners by phone.

If you have more questions, contact the police department at 245-1200.
