A former law enforcement patrol car that had been reported stolen was recovered in McPherson County Thursday.

The Salina Journal reports that a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper spotted the old Ford Crown Victoria black-and-white four miles north of McPherson on Interstate Highway 135.

The trooper had ran the tag after coming across the car and it came back as being reported stolen from Oklahoma City. The car was no longer in service as a law enforcement vehicle and had been sold to a member of the public.

The trooper pulled over the vehicle and arrested Derek R. Wood, who had not provided an age or a hometown.
