BETHANY, Okla. — Despite four players scoring in double figures, Central Christian College’s women’s basketball team dropped its season opener to Southwestern Christian 78-60 on Monday.
Newcomer Heather Crittenden was especially outstanding for Central with team highs in points (15) and rebounds (seven).
Libby Brooks canned all four of her 3-point attempts and scored 14 points, while Caitlyn Campa (11) and Ashlyn Garza (10) came off the bench to provide some firepower.
The Lady Tigers, who still have some key players competing on the women’s soccer team and suited up only 10 for this game, were down 40-29 at the half, but played relatively competitive in the second half.
Central makes its home debut on Friday against KCAC member Kansas Wesleyan, which has been picked to finish in the Top 3 this season.
Game time is 5:30 p.m.
